I recently attended the Improv Comedy Club, located at 166 East Bridge Street, Homestead, PA, on September 21, 2024, to enjoy an evening of laughter with a guest. The headliner for the evening was the hilarious Earthquake, and before he took the stage, we were treated to a great opening act by Mr. Bishop, who shared funny stories about marriage, divorce, and his time in the NFL. The energy in the room was fantastic, and the comedy was top-notch!

However, there are some aspects of the experience that could use improvement. The venue has a mandatory two-item purchase per person, which definitely puts extra pressure on both guests and servers. We ordered the Asian Chicken Salad, Meatball Sub, Classic Brownie Sundae, and Strawberry Shortcake served in a mason jar. Our server, Darion N., did a commendable job of managing the rush and getting our orders in a reasonable time despite the busyness of the venue.

Unfortunately, as the crowd grew, it became clear that the service staff, including Darion, was stretched too thin. The requirement for the two-item minimum meant servers were constantly running between tables, and while they managed to get orders in, the tables weren’t cleared properly. This resulted in a cluttered mess of plates, glasses, and serving boards on our small 2x2 table. When additional guests joined our table later in the evening, there was little room for them to place their items, leading to discomfort for everyone. While I understand the requirement for the minimum purchase, the venue must reconsider its impact on service quality and guest experience.

Recommendations:
1. Table Size & Layout: The small tables (2x2) do not comfortably accommodate four people, let alone four people’s mandatory two-item purchases. The management should consider larger tables or a better seating arrangement to enhance comfort.

2. Service & Table Maintenance: While the servers were doing their best, the inability to clear tables left no room for additional food and drinks, which affects the overall experience. The management should assign more staff or streamline the process to ensure tables are cleared and maintained during busy shows.

3. Mandatory Two-Item Minimum: This policy, while understandable from a business perspective, needs better management. Either the venue should adjust table sizes to accommodate this policy or scale back on the requirement if the staff cannot keep up with clearing tables. It detracts from the customer service experience when guests are left with cluttered tables and no room for their items.

Despite these hiccups, the atmosphere of the Improv is always lively, and the acts are consistently top-tier. I’ll continue to attend shows here, but I hope the management takes these factors into consideration to improve the experience for future guests.

A very fun Date Night. The venue was well organized and enjoyable. There is a minimum two item menu purchase required, which was the only thing didn't like. Mixed drinks were $18 and beer $10 each. We would have purchased that anyway, but the requirement was not appreciated.

Recently visited to see Ari Shaffir’s show. The place is quite good. Well organized, courteous staff, quick service for a comedy room. Overall great experience.

I had a wonderful time here! I came to see Preacher Lawson and he (and his opener Adam) were hilarious! Not only that, the food was surprisingly delicious! We came early to claim a spot and eat dinner. I was able to scan a qr code to order food and the food came within 15 to 20 mins. Overall great experience and I would definitely come back!

We have a tradition of coming here every new years eve. Never disappoints. Warm up acts are local a good too. Acceptable food and cost considering the venue and expectations.

First off, people complain about food and drink prices. Is it different from any other venues? I think not. If you don't have the disposable income to go then stay home.

No for the venue itself. Great size for a more intimate show. Spacious enough that you aren't on top of other people. Acts are very good.

Saw Phil Hanley. Absolutely recommend. Because of his crowd work no show will ever be the same. I would see him again and again.

First time, EVER, at The Improv. We saw one of my most favorite AGT acts, comedian Samuel Comroe. What a show!!! He was so funny!! Never a dull moment in his entire act. Good crowd!!! Sorry, no photos were allowed!!!
