My husband and I came to the Valentine's Day show and we had a ball. The host, Chris Harrison did his damn job from the front door and through the whole night. Very funny and personable. It took some time for the show to start but you can order order drinks, apetizers and hookah if wanted. There were 5 comedians and to me all were funny. (some, more than others but they all did a great job). We will be back.

First off, let me just say—comedy is hard. You’ve got to put yourself out there, be vulnerable, and then hope a room full of strangers buys into your particular flavor of funny. That takes guts most of us will never muster. And while comedy often mirrors the best and worst of who we are as a society, there’s something admirable about people willing to hold that mirror up, even when the reflection isn’t all that flattering. Yes, some of the jokes we heard leaned on tired tropes—misogynistic punchlines and the occasional off-color remark—but if we’re being honest, comedy has always been an awkward reflection of the world we live in. It’s not always high-brow or uplifting, but it’s at least grappling with the messy realities we’d rather ignore. Do I subscribe to that brand of humor? Not really. But I do respect the effort and the courage it takes to put it out there. Now, for the night itself: My wife and I weren’t even planning on going. We were just strolling by, jokingly asked if anyone funny was inside, and next thing we knew, we were invited in. Talk about serendipity. The lineup? Let’s just say it felt like someone pulled a random assortment of comedians out of a Craigslist ad titled “Have Jokes, Will Perform.” You never knew what you were going to get—some were surprisingly funny, others…well, they tried. Props to the host, though—he was the one who invited us in and kept the energy alive throughout the night. He did a good job of encouraging the crowd and making the experience enjoyable, even when the humor didn't hit. So.,. here’s the thing, the fact that this little club exists, that it’s giving space for people to try and maybe fail, is something DC absolutely needs! Humor has to be part of what we do as a city. It gives us perspective, lightens the load, and occasionally helps us see the world a little differently. And while this club might not be serving up world-class comedy every night, it’s trying. And that counts for something. So if you’re walking by, or if you’re just in the mood to mix a little awkward with your entertainment, give it a shot. Try to laugh. Try to support. Because comedy, even when it’s rough around the edges, is better than no comedy at all.

Saw the show on New Year’s Eve with my husband and 2 twenty something daughters. There was a good variety of comedians. Some were funnier than others. We laughed and had a great time. It is a very welcoming environment. We felt like the staff was great and really wanted everyone to have a good time. Would definitely recommend. Great for date night, groups and singles.

Chris Harrison (host of the show) is only real qualified comedian. He is legitimately funny and has a good range of jokes, very smart guy overall and keeps the show rolling. Other comedians that came in were not great - honest feedback - people started leaving mid way through, room got quiet for extended periods of time, jokes were hard to track and lost most of the crowd. If you want to increase business, scale up to bigger venue, have Chris run the entire show and give him the stage. I would hire him personally

Super fun night. The wait staff was friendly and on point. The line-up was cool. Very intimate setting! Small menu but the cheese sticks are very yummy. Good hookah selection. Only minus a star because I think the waitstaff needs a little cocktail training. Great place for a date night or a girls night out. I am so bringing my friends next time.

In short, worst comedy show I’ve been to. The upside to this venue is if you ever want a date to go nowhere, fast, this is the spot. I enjoy dark humor but the jokes were surface level racist, misogynistic, and generally offensive with no substance behind them. The tone starts low with the emcee driving the room’s atmosphere off a cliff. If a comic has a good set, don’t worry, the emcee comes right back in between to crush the mood. Some of the comics were OK, just hard to have a good time with the emcee in between.

2 stars because the host was great. Went to a show called the "420 Comedy Jam" ... it wasn't funny and had nothing to do with 420 👎
