We ate tacos across the street then walked to our show and had a great time! If I had it to do over, I would order top shelf drinks because the ones we had were pretty bad. But the comedy more than made up for it!

The show was good but I had a disappointing experience with security during my visit. The security guard was smoking less than 20 feet away from the line we were standing in. The smell was unpleasant and affected everyone nearby. When we politely requested that he either move further away or stop smoking, he refused. This lack of consideration and professionalism from a security staff member was both surprising and unacceptable. I hope management addresses this issue to ensure a better experience for visitors in the future.

I love The Comedy Store! It is an iconic venue in San Diego. I used to go pretty regularly but hadn't been in years until this year (2023) when I attended Whitney Cummings, Michael Yo, and Pauly Shores shows. It was great to see that it hadn't changed a bit. The venue is still this neighbourhood hot spot that brings in top talent old and new. If you haven't been know that a queue forms before doors open. Seating is first come first served and based on the size of your party where you are seated. There are no bad seats in the house. There is no food served at The Comedy Store but they do sell fantastic popcorn and have a full bar and make pretty good cocktails. If you're looking for a low key night out or a date night this is a great choice. Keep up the good work, Comedy Store!

Nice atmosphere, stained glass on the ceiling. Don’t forget your ID… Live music while you wait. It is easy to see the stage, pretty small venue and it looks like the 7pm shows sell out faster. I ordered both drinks at the same time. The only thing I don’t like is the 2 drink minimum, I know it’s standard at comedy clubs but I still don’t like it…🥴Also parking here can be a little difficult (no parking lot, we found parking on the street off Girard Ave - don’t park at Pavilions)

The “comedy store” brand reputation is going to be ruined by this place. We went to the one in West Hollywood the same week and had the absolute best experience there. So we came to this location later in the week where we met absolutely unprofessional experience including rude staff and predatory “mandatory drinks” that is completely disgusting. Will never return to this location again

I attend comedy venues all over the nation and never once have encountered such unprofessionalism and disgust as much as I did this past weekend. Long story short, we had a party of 10 between 2 tables on opposite sides of the room. One of our guests at the other table had nonchalantly mentioned the following day that she paid for our drinks and I sarcastically laughed as I had paid for my table so I thought she was joking. She was not. We were essentially double charged and I emailed them to resolve it and reimburse my credit card to no avail. They refused to even connect via phone. I am by no means the type to criticize an establishment unless absolutely necessary. I own a multimillion dollar company and would never treat my customers like this.

To make matters worse, they even openly admitted they were short staffed and had a server who was “sick” as our particular server. I thought she may have been under the influence as she had a runny nose and kept making mistakes on our order. I am absolutely disgusted and will never return to this venue. Please save your money and go to a different venue.

Nick Swardson was amazing!!! The venu is great to get up close to your favorite comedians. I would say the only thing they can improve on is getting better chairs. They definitely make enough money to improve the chairs. Other than that the service was great in the location is pretty good as well. You should just go down two streets and park. There is plenty of parking if you go two streets past the comedy store towards the beach. Make sure not the park in the grocery store parking lot. It's a two drink minimum.
